The Eurasian Economic Union expects to fully launch a single exchange space by 2029. This was announced by Daniyar Imanaliev, member of the Board for Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission. According to him, the relevant program for the development of exchange trading was approved in 2025 and provides for phased implementation.
The first stage focuses on the formation of a legal framework. This involves harmonizing the national legislation of the union countries, preparing an international agreement, and establishing cooperation between the commodity exchanges of the member states. The next step is to move on to the practical part — conducting pilot trades, creating the necessary infrastructure, and integrating information systems.
The final stage is scheduled for 2029. By this time, it is expected that the common exchange space will be fully operational and that all platforms within the union will have equal access to trading. It is expected that the launch of the mechanism will allow for more transparent and market-based prices for raw materials and commodities, as well as strengthen the export potential of the EAEU countries and their position in foreign markets.
