United States President Donald Trump stated that Michael Seleig, the head of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, is working on the possibility of bringing the decentralized derivatives exchange Hyperliquid to the American market in a lawful way. According to Trump, in May, Seleig authorized the first‑ever real perpetual futures contract for Bitcoin on an exchange registered with the Commission. The politician also noted that Seleig is working on the Hyperliquid issue.

Against the backdrop of the US president’s statement, the HYPE token surged in price. Over the course of 24 hours, its value increased by approximately twenty‑five percent, and the price exceeded seventy‑two dollars. According to CoinMarketCap, the asset’s capitalization exceeded eighteen billion dollars. Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, commenting on Trump’s mention of Hyperliquid, said that the platform’s legal entry into the American market would be a major victory for the entire crypto industry. According to him, Hyperliquid could become an example for other decentralized services and open the way for them to operate in the United States. Zhao called Hyperliquid an icebreaker that, after overcoming the regulatory barrier, could pave the way for other companies, and noted that the platform’s success would be beneficial not only to it but also to other market participants, including centralized cryptocurrency exchanges.

Against the backdrop of HYPE’s rapid growth, the Lookonchain analytical platform drew attention to the trader loracle.hl, who overall lost more than sixty million dollars on transactions involving the token. In June, he lost about forty‑six million dollars on short positions, after which he opened long positions, on which he lost another two million three hundred and thirty thousand dollars. Later, the trader opened short positions again, and at the time of publication, his loss on them amounted to about eleven million eight hundred thousand dollars. Thus, the trader incurred losses both when betting on the rise of HYPE and when betting on its decline. At the same time, the investment company Multicoin Capital transferred 136,174 HYPE tokens worth approximately $9,650,000 to Coinbase Prime. Let us recall that Multicoin Capital previously predicted that HYPE would rise above $300 by 2028.
