An unknown crypto investor became the victim of a large-scale phishing attack, losing more than twenty-five million dollars worth of digital assets in just fifteen minutes. Analysts of the Scam Sniffer blockchain platform reported that the attackers acted purposefully and quickly withdrew funds from the victim's wallets. Among the stolen assets were wrapped bitcoins, DAI stablecoins, and millions of dollars worth of ether. Immediately after the successful attack, the scammers converted the stolen cryptocurrencies through decentralized exchanges into twenty million DAI and three thousand ethers. They then distributed these funds between four different crypto addresses, where the coins remain without any movement for now.

It is noteworthy that this is not the first such incident in the history of this crypto investor. In September 2000, he lost more than twenty-four million dollars after inadvertently approving a transaction on a phishing website. That resource was linked to the Inferno Drainer hacker group, which stole thousands of liquid staking tokens. However, later most of these funds were returned to the rightful owner, and he was able to recover about ninety percent of the stolen amount.

Earlier, Scam Sniffer analysts talked about another crypto investor who lost almost a million USDT stablecoins after signing a malicious transaction. The victim mistakenly provided the fraudsters' smart contract with permission to withdraw funds indefinitely from his main address.
