Payment company Visa announced the transition of its pre-funding service for international transfers in stablecoins on the Visa Direct platform from pilot mode to commercial use. This innovative solution allows clients to fund cross-border payments using USDC, which was previously impossible without traditional banking settlement windows. Thus, Visa is opening new horizons for global financial operations, making them faster and more convenient for businesses.
The first partner in this new direction is Inyo Global, which offers round-the-clock funding for cross-border payments almost in real-time. The Inyo platform supports the transfer of both domestic and international funds through Visa Direct, serving more than 180 countries. This gives businesses the opportunity to use USDC to complete international payments, significantly simplifying the process and reducing transfer waiting times. Vera Platonova, Global Head of Visa Direct, emphasized that this solution is the next stage in the development of stablecoins, moving from experiments with partners to the practical application of technologies that help businesses manage funding more effectively. She noted that the integration of stablecoins into platforms like Visa Direct is becoming a key element in ensuring more flexible and faster movement of funds worldwide.
In addition, Visa is implementing a strategy aimed at integrating blockchain technologies into the traditional payment infrastructure. In this context, pilot programs for funding and payments using stablecoins, launched in 2025, have begun. These programs are designed to demonstrate the potential of stablecoins in the field of cross-border settlements and liquidity management. The transition from testing to large-scale commercial use has become an important step for Visa in the payment services market. Besides the partnership with Inyo Global, in August 2026, Visa also announced a collaboration with digital asset infrastructure provider zerohash. This partnership involves the implementation of account top-ups and payments in stablecoins for Visa Direct clients, as well as round-the-clock liquidity management for international transfers. Thus, Visa continues to develop and complement its stablecoin initiatives aimed at improving customer experience and optimizing financial settlements in the modern world.
