Visa Direct has transitioned the ability to pre-fund payouts in the USDC stablecoin from a pilot to commercial operation. This was reported on October 15, 2026. The first network participant to enable clients was the payment infrastructure company Inyo Global. Eligible companies, including money transmitters, fintechs, banks, and payment companies, can now pre-fund payouts through Visa Direct in USDC almost in real-time and around the clock.
In 2025, Visa conducted a series of experiments with stablecoins. The early pilot of USDC payouts was aimed at sending funds directly to the wallets of content creators and gig workers. Global Head of Visa Direct Vira Platonova stated: “The next stage for stablecoins is implementation… Now we see these efforts transitioning into real implementations.”
The Inyo platform already supports domestic and international payouts in more than 180 countries and has integrated Visa's capability directly into its APIs. Clients do not need to rebuild systems. Inyo co-founder Robson Dantas noted that round-the-clock funding through familiar APIs was one of the key tasks during development.
Visa Crypto Labs head Cuy Sheffield confirmed the launch on X: “Great to see stablecoin pre-funding in Visa Direct in operational use, with Inyo Global becoming the first enabler.”
In the initial phase, the launch is geographically limited, and participant requirements apply.
