WTI crude oil rises modestly in Asia, spread with Brent exceeds $5

WTI crude oil futures are showing slight gains during the Asian session. Contracts for April delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange rose 0.18% to $66.52 per barrel.

During trading, quotes tested intraday levels, with the nearest technical support forming around $61.76 per barrel and resistance around $66.85 per barrel.

The dollar index (USD Index), which measures the performance of the US dollar against a basket of six major currencies, added 0.06% to 97.92 points, limiting the upside potential for commodity assets.

On the ICE exchange, Brent crude oil for April delivery, on the other hand, corrected by 0.15% to $71.77 per barrel. Thus, the price gap between Brent and WTI is $5.25 in favor of the North Sea benchmark.
