According to analyst Ali Martinez, citing Santiment, the accumulation by whales was uneven. Initially, the balances of large holders increased from 16.03 to 16.07 billion $XRP, then the pace accelerated and surged to 16.25 billion, and then to 16.36 billion.

Following the activity of whales, the number of large transactions also increased. The number of $XRP transfers exceeding $1 million increased by 280% to 18 transactions. Furthermore, the open interest in the altcoin on the Binance cryptocurrency exchange reached $461.3 million, which was the highest level in the past 2 months. Santiment experts also recorded the highest network activity in 2 months.

And although whale accumulation does not guarantee an immediate rise in the asset, $XRP has risen by 20.5% over the past 24 hours to $1.27. Over the past week, the gain amounted to 26%, according to CoinMarketCap. The altcoin’s recovery is taking place against the backdrop of a general rally in the cryptocurrency market, during which Bitcoin exceeded the $72,000 level. The rise in XRP coincided with the overall positive sentiment in the crypto market, which is fueled by expectations of approval for regulatory initiatives and increasing institutional interest in digital assets.
