XT Pay simplifies the use of USDT for purchases

XT Pay connects USDT balances with local QR networks, allowing payments in stablecoin at participating merchants. A customer may have enough USDT for a purchase and still be unable to use it at checkout if the store accepts QR payments and the funds are on an exchange account. This creates an additional problem: it is necessary to sell USDT, withdraw local currency, and transfer funds to another payment app before completing the purchase. This process can be considered the 'last mile' of a stablecoin payment. Moving value to an account solves one problem but allows its use only in certain places, requiring another participant: the merchant with their own payment system and settlement needs. XT Pay from XT Exchange connects both sides through local QR networks. For eligible users in supported regions, purchases at participating merchants can be funded with USDT held in the XT Spot account. The payment process itself begins in the XT app, while a third party ensures the processing of the local QR transaction and settlement with the merchant in local currency. Such an arrangement separates the client's funding choice from the merchant's payment system. A business can participate in a USDT-funded purchase without becoming a holder. The responsibility for connecting both systems lies with the payment service.

"Every additional step between holding value and using it gives the customer another reason to pay another way," – noted Arman Ahmed, COO of XT Exchange. "For an exchange, this work goes beyond just providing an asset. We want the account to remain useful even after the transaction. XT Pay – is one way to do this, using the payment habits of both customers and merchants." The connection remains specific to eligible users, participating merchants, and supported markets and networks. A QR code on display by itself does not establish acceptance. Users must also be confident in the need to reuse the service. They will assess conversion costs, the clarity of the amount they pay, and whether the service works in the places they visit. A successful first purchase can demonstrate this connection. Repeated use will show that it fits well enough into a person's routine to become a spending choice.

In XT Exchange's plans, payment operations occupy a special place in the product line. A transaction starts with the client's decision to enter or exit the market, while a payment starts with a purchase the client wants to make, regardless of any trading decision. Integrating this task into the account expands the reasons for using the platform. At the completion stage, the purchase is simple enough: the client wants to complete the purchase, and the merchant is waiting to receive payment. The acceptance of stablecoin is gaining popularity when this connection serves the interests of both parties well enough to become a regular habit.
