4,259 BTC Transferred from Trump Media Wallets to Crypto.com

On November 5, wallets associated with Trump Media & Technology Group transferred approximately 4,259 BTC valued at $343.67 million to the cryptocurrency platform Crypto com. The transactions sparked speculation about a possible sale of reserves, but there is no confirmation of such an operation yet.

The transfer took place around 02:17 UTC in two transactions of 2,140.03 and 2,119.31 BTC. Both payments went to a single address associated with Crypto com. The sender wallets are designated as collateral for Trump Media's convertible bonds. The company has not yet disclosed the purpose of the transactions.

As of June 30, Trump Media reported 4,260.73 BTC valued at $250.46 million as collateral for the bonds. The sent volume differs from this amount by approximately 1.39 BTC. The matching figures suggest a possible connection between the transactions and the debt collateral, but do not prove that the company withdrew the collateral or sold the assets. The bond conditions restrict the withdrawal of the bitcoins securing them until the stipulated requirements are met, but no later than May 29, 2028.

Bond Redemption May Require Up to $1 Billion

Holders of Trump Media's convertible bonds have the right to demand their redemption for cash on November 30, 2026. The issuance took place in May 2025 with a nominal amount of $1 billion, and taking into account the initial discount, the company received $960 million. If all holders exercise their right, the redemption costs could amount to about $1 billion plus any accrued interest, if applicable.

The company is considering refinancing the debt, attracting new loans or capital. If these measures prove insufficient, one option could be the sale of bitcoins or other digital assets. A decision on such a sale has not been announced.

Previous transfers to Crypto com have already sparked similar speculations. In May 2026, approximately 2,650 BTC worth $205 million were transferred to the platform, and in early August, 2,628 BTC worth about $165 million. In both cases, Trump Media denied a sale and explained the operations as asset management and storage.

In the report as of June 30, 9,477.16 BTC were separately accounted for as digital assets and 2,077.34 BTC were provided as collateral for an options strategy. For the first half of the year, the loss associated with digital assets and collateral amounted to $360.65 million. As of July 31, the company estimated the volume of bitcoins, including collateral, at approximately 14,139 BTC. The current reserve structure and the purpose of the transfer have not been disclosed.
