AI Created a Fishing Game in Six Weeks Using Godot Engine Code

Enthusiast Hakim Aikbal released the first downloadable version of a fishing game created exclusively using AI tools. The project began as an experiment and evolved into a playable build in six weeks. The author claims that he had no prior experience in game development before starting the project.

The main code for the Godot engine is generated by Claude, while the 3D assets are created by Claude and GPT-6 Astra. The Tripo3D service is used for character production, converting images and text descriptions into 3D models. According to Aikbal, the project received new islands and docking zones, a fishing progress system, updated lighting, and redesigned structures in the past week.

The author emphasizes that development was not limited to a single request to the neural network. He states that the work involved constant testing, bug fixing, and gradual expansion of the game over six weeks. Aikbal believes that modern AI projects increasingly resemble the usual development process rather than simple prompting. The current version is already available to users via the SwissTransfer file-sharing service, although there is no dedicated game page on Steam or any other digital store yet. The starting area, according to the creator, is close to completion.

The reaction to the result was mixed. Some users positively assessed the visual aspect of the project, particularly noting the water and overall atmosphere, which they compared to Age of Empires. Others pointed out potential performance issues and suggested entrusting optimization to the same AI agents. There were also principled opponents of the approach: one commenter thanked the creator for his honesty about using AI, adding that he could now dismiss the game and never play it; another suggested that the absence of a Steam release speaks for the quality of the result. Aikbal has not yet disclosed the exact cost of development.
