Binance Suspends Withdrawals on Ethereum Network and Delists 12 Pairs

The cryptocurrency exchange Binance will conduct a technical maintenance of wallets on the Ethereum network on October 28. Deposits and withdrawals in this network will be temporarily unavailable, with the work expected to last approximately one hour, after which operations will resume. Token trading will not be affected, and the company promises to address all technical issues for users. "Deposits and withdrawals for tokens on the aforementioned network will be reopened as soon as the updated network becomes stable. No further announcements will be made," the notification states.

This year, Binance has already conducted similar operations: in August, it temporarily suspended transfers on the Ethereum network, and earlier, deposits and withdrawals of TRX. There were no reports of problems or user complaints.

Delisting

On October 30, Binance will remove 12 spot pairs: AAVE/BTC, ATOM/BTC, CAKE/BTC, DASH/BTC, ETC/BTC, ICP/BTC, PENDLE/BTC, RENDER/BTC, TAO/BTC, THETA/BTC, XAUT/BTC, and XTZ/BTC. The decision was made following a regular review of the pairs' compliance with liquidity and trading volume standards.

"The delisting of a trading pair does not affect the availability of tokens on Binance Spot. Users can trade the base and quoted assets of the pair on other Binance pairs," the company explained. On the same day, the exchange will halt ten margin pairs, including BTC/USDS and ETH/USDS.

The announced measures did not cause noticeable price movements. This is expected: the market reacts more strongly when Binance completely discontinues all services for an asset. Earlier this month, the removal of Epic Chain (EPIC) and QuickSwap (QUICK) caused a sharp drop in both coins.
