Bitcoin Recovers Faster from Bear Market than After the 2022 Crash

Bitcoin is recovering from a bear market 3.1 times faster than after the 2022 crash. In 113 days, the coin has regained almost half of its losses – 48%. Last time, it took 348 days. These calculations were published by crypto trader Sminston With, who compared two bear markets on a single chart.

The trader compared the two cycles on a single scale: the cycle bottom was taken as 0%, and the previous price record as 100%. Each point on the chart showed how much of the path from minimum to maximum Bitcoin had already covered. A logarithmic scale was used for accuracy – growth percentages were compared, not price. This approach allows for cycle comparisons, even if prices differed significantly.

It turned out that in 2026, Bitcoin reached the 48% mark in 113 days. In the previous cycle, the market was stuck at the 30–45% level for almost a year and only reached the same 48% on the 348th day – in October 2023. The trader attributed the acceleration to "strong hands" – investors who do not sell coins during a downturn. When there are many such investors, the price does not fall deeper and rises back faster.

The main thing is that the market is not repeating the 2022 scenario, when after the bottom, Bitcoin was in a sideways trend for almost a year, and many investors got tired of waiting and exited the market. Now, half of the way to the old record has been covered in less than four months. But it is important to read the chart correctly: it is about the share of the recovered drop, not the price – there is no new record yet; only two cycles are compared, so repetition is not guaranteed.
