The Bybit platform has announced the launch of trading in over 1,000 U.S. stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) for users worldwide. Clients can now purchase securities using USDC, with the option of fractional shares and no commission. Access to trading services is available 24/5 from Monday to Friday. Among the available assets are stocks of major companies like Apple, Nvidia, and Tesla, as well as ETFs, including Invesco QQQ.
The platform reports that trade execution, clearing, and custody will be handled through Alpaca. The service also includes corporate actions such as cash dividends, stock dividends, and stock splits. Cash dividends are converted into USDC and credited to users' trading accounts. Additionally, shareholder voting rights are expected in the future. According to Ben Zhou, co-founder and CEO of Bybit, the launch of the new service is part of their efforts to integrate traditional and digital financial markets on a single platform. "Financial markets have long been divided across different products and platforms, but users increasingly expect a more cohesive experience," he noted in his statement made on October 12.
Access to the new service will be restricted for users from certain jurisdictions who have undergone the necessary Know Your Customer verification. Investors may face risks of capital loss when investing in stocks through Bybit. Additionally, users can manage their stock investments alongside cryptocurrency positions on the platform. The platform provides asset management capabilities and supports services related to corporate actions. Bybit states that their new service offers zero commissions on stock purchases and sales, as well as the ability to acquire fractional shares. This means that users can invest in small portions of stocks, making trading more accessible to a wider audience. With 80 million users worldwide, Bybit aims to provide its clients with access to a more diverse range of financial instruments and assets. Through collaboration with Alpaca, Bybit strengthens its position in international trading.
