Cardano Faces Sharp Liquidation Surge of 1,085%

Cardano (ADA) experienced a sharp surge in liquidations, reaching 1,085%, after ongoing selling forced bullish traders to exit leveraged positions. At the time of writing, the price of Cardano had decreased by 1.64%, settling at $0.20, which came as a surprise to many traders anticipating a rise. Over the past 24 hours, approximately $2.06 million in Cardano leveraged positions were liquidated, with $1.89 million attributed to long positions and $174,080 to short positions, according to data from CoinGlass. The ratio of long to short positions stood at 1,085%.

Rising expectations for interest rate hikes by the U.S. Federal Reserve, along with renewed concerns about inflation, triggered a sell-off in the markets, leading to a decline in Cardano's price. The cryptocurrency lost value for four consecutive days from September 7 to September 10, 2026, hitting a low of $0.20 on Friday. This was followed by a slight rebound. U.S. inflation data for August 2026 generally met expectations: the consumer price index increased by 0.4%, aligning with economists' forecasts, as well as a 0.1% rise in July.

At the same time, updates for Cardano continue to gain traction. Preparations for the implementation of Dijkstra are in full swing, with the integration of Node 11.2 already underway, which will provide a foundation for early testing of Dijkstra. The Cardano-node-11.1.1 version is already being prepared for mainnet launch and is marked as a pre-release for Dijkstra. This version will eliminate V1 LedgerDB and LMDB, ensuring predictable ledger snapshots and compatibility with Mithril, thus allowing snapshots to be compared and shared between nodes. The completion of the 11.2 integration is expected in the coming weeks, enabling early testing of Dijkstra and the integration of toolkits, as well as the launch of the public testnet “DijkstraNet.”
