Traders betting on the rise of Cardano (ADA) found themselves under pressure amid a general sell-off in the crypto market. ADA continued to decline on Thursday following the release of consumer price index (CPI) data, which came in higher than expected. According to CoinGlass, the volume of liquidations for ADA amounted to $4.27 million, with $4.2 million in long positions and $73,080 in short positions. The skew between long and short liquidations is 5,747%. At the time of writing, ADA had decreased by 1.33% over the day to $0.224, with a low of $0.216.
Pressure on the entire crypto market was intensified by inflation data published on Wednesday: they raised concerns that the Fed might increase the rate this month. Consumer prices rose by 3.7% year-on-year in September (3.4% in August), which is higher than economists' expectations. The core CPI accelerated to 2.6% from 2.4% the previous month. On Thursday, losses increased: $913 million in futures positions were liquidated over the day, mostly long ones.
The Musashi Dojo test network for Ouroboros Leios has moved to the next stage. This is a public Cardano testnet that has been operating since the end of June 2026 until the mainnet hard fork, with sequential releases of node versions, from early prototypes to release candidates. According to Input Output, Musashi Dojo has entered the Fire phase, the third of five. The goal of the stages is to gradually increase the load, test the protocol, and bring the code to production level. There are five stages in total: Earth, Water, Fire, Wind, and Void, named after the books of Musashi's treatise "The Book of Five Rings" (1645). After the launch of Leios in the main network, Cardano will support an increase in throughput by 5-20 times.
