Compass Launches AI Assistant for Real Estate Agents

In July 2026, Compass launched a new AI assistant designed for 83,000 real estate agents. The company's management actively used all available methods to encourage agents to use it. As part of the launch, a demonstration day was held, which was watched live by over 10,000 Compass agents. Among the hosts were CEO Robert Reffkin, President of Growth Rory Golod, CTO Shay Artzi, and President Neda Navab. Since the launch of the AI assistant, 15,000 agents have generated over 97,000 dialogues within a few weeks. While 90% of agents across the industry report using AI or planning to do so, according to the National Association of Realtors (NAR), more than two-thirds of realtors save at least an hour of work time each week with AI. However, according to NAR, the average age of a realtor is 57, which creates additional barriers to technology adoption.

Brokerage firms have traditionally been reluctant to adopt new technologies, which has led companies like Compass to face skepticism. They slowly adapted to the internet and mobile apps, allowing online marketplaces like Zillow and Redfin to quickly capture the market. Additionally, signs of experimentation with chatbots to reduce commission costs are emerging among real estate buyers and sellers. "To sell a house properly and help a buyer acquire it requires incredible insight, high emotional intelligence, and relationship building," – noted Golod. He expressed the opinion that AI cannot replace the personal experience of agents when interacting with clients. "To sell homes at the highest level requires a high degree of judgment and communication skills that AI simply lacks," – he added.

Previously, the Compass AI tool version focused on content creation, but the new AI assistant is designed for more active tasks, such as compiling lists of potential clients and generating personalized notifications. The AI Assistant connects 100 different tools into one platform, making it easier for agents to work. Now they can simply give a command to the AI to perform an action without delving into the details of Compass software. Golod noted that there is a significant shift as more agents begin to fully utilize the platform that was previously used partially.
