On 8 July, the Ethereum user was deprived of 999,999 USDT by signing a phishing transaction. Scam Sniffer analysts recorded that the attackers first tried to extract exactly $1 million through the multicall function, then emptied the wallet with the exact balance by three transfers: 639,999, 159,999 and 200,000 USDT. Recipient address marked as phishing in Etherscan.

Experts recommend: double-check all signature requests, avoid hasty transactions, and use scan detection tools. On 4 July, a similar incident resulted in a loss of $1.65 million: the wallet’s owner connected to a fake exchange and signed a malicious contract, granting unlimited access to funds. According to CertiK, the crypto industry lost $1.32 billion in H1 2026 due to security incidents, with phishing being the main source of damage in the first quarter.
