On October 23, FOMO announced the launch of its own cross-chain bridge and trading router, stating that transactions are completed in less than a second. This came a day after the competing Pump fun introduced its bridge infrastructure.
The public rollout began after about a week of testing with a small group of users. The new bridge gives FOMO direct control over the movement of funds between supported blockchains, while the proprietary router is responsible for executing trades. Previously, the platform relied on external infrastructure, including Relay.
FOMO co-founder So Yong Pak (Seyong on X) shared that the team considered the experience during periods of increased activity on the Robinhood Chain, when FOMO accounted for more than 50% of the network's trading wallets. CEO Paul Erlanger confirmed the week-long limited launch and called the gradual rollout a precautionary measure.
FOMO claims that its bridge and router execute trades up to 50% faster than competitors during periods of volatility, and average execution prices have improved by 0.5%. The company also asserts that it processes more than 10 times the cross-chain transactions than any competing application. However, the announcement lacks a full comparison period, a list of competitors, and independently verified data.
Pump fun, which replaced Relay with Pump Bridge, reported an average purchase time of 1.95 seconds versus 3.88 seconds through Relay from a sample of over 400,000 transaction outcomes from September 28 to October 7; the error rate decreased from 11.2% to 0.9%.
The statements from both companies were obtained under different testing conditions: there is no independent comparison with identical transactions and load. Neither announcement explains who supplies liquidity to the target network and whether the platform continues to use external providers. No audit reports on the security of the new infrastructure were found in the reviewed materials.
The launch followed a $75 million funding round in June, which valued FOMO at $550 million. At that time, the app reported over 625,000 users and a cumulative trading volume of about $4 billion.
