Experts at Grayscale Research believe that Zcash (ZEC) may continue to increase its share in the digital currency market. A year ago, Zcash's market capitalization was about 0.1% of Bitcoin's market cap, with ZEC trading at around $60. Currently, the ratio has reached approximately 1.5%, with the price of ZEC rising to $1,500.
One of the main advantages of Zcash is the ability to conduct shielded transactions using zero-knowledge proofs. As of July 2026, such transactions accounted for about 90% of all operations on the network. Grayscale experts expect that the demand for financial privacy may grow amid the development of digital payments and AI-based data analysis tools. Meanwhile, Bitcoin remains the dominant asset in the sector.
In September, ZEC demonstrated a sharp rally, reaching approximately $1,400 – an increase of over 2,500% over the year. The growing interest in Zcash was also accompanied by the development of investment products: in August, Grayscale launched the first spot ETF based on ZEC under the ticker ZCSH. Additionally, against the backdrop of rising ZEC, the mining yield of Zcash increased – according to Grayscale, the metric per megawatt-hour was about four times higher than that of Bitcoin.
