Grayscale and Republic Launch Three Cryptocurrency Investment Funds

Grayscale has partnered with Republic, which will distribute three investment products: funds in the fields of decentralized finance, artificial intelligence, and blockchain data networks. Grayscale announced this on October 15. Eligible investors will be able to participate starting from $2,500.

The offering includes the Grayscale DeFi Fund, Grayscale Decentralized AI Fund, and Grayscale Data Network Trust. Access is provided through the Republic platform, without the need to directly buy and store underlying cryptocurrencies. The products are available only to qualified investors and are associated with the risks of private investments. Republic co-founder and CEO Andrew Durgee said the agreement provides access to funds typically available to institutional investors, with a "minimum investment of just $2,500."

The Grayscale DeFi Fund (ticker DEFG) holds six digital assets related to decentralized financial services: UNI, AAVE, ONDO, ENA, CRV, and LDO. The Grayscale Decentralized AI Fund, according to public composition data, holds NEAR, TAO, RENDER, and FIL. These tokens are associated with blockchain applications for computing resources, artificial intelligence, and decentralized data storage. The Grayscale Data Network Trust provides access to DATA, the native coin of the DATA network, which is used for recording data rights, licensing terms, and payment for data usage in AI model training.

The minimum investment on the Republic platform for all three products is $2,500. Participants from the US must meet the requirements for accredited investors, including income, capital, or professional qualification requirements. Unlike public ETFs, the three Republic offerings are private placements and are not traded on an exchange. Grayscale warns that these securities have limited liquidity and carry the risk of losing the entire investment amount.
