Jack Mallers: Bitcoin and AI Can Give People Time for Creativity

Jack Mallers, CEO of Strike, stated that Bitcoin and artificial intelligence can help people regain time for creativity. He made this remark on Monday during the debut TV show of Bitcoin Magazine.

"Money in a broad sense is our time and energy in abstract form; it is a market good representing effort and labor," Mallers said. According to him, if money is bad, it destructively impacts time and energy: people have to work longer and harder to buy a house, afford a vacation, or find hours for creative interests. However, if money is good, it returns and rewards time and energy. Mallers added that Bitcoin and AI can free people from the 'routine' of bad money, citing the Wright brothers, who created the airplane when the U.S. was on the gold standard. Mallers' comments came after Bitcoin's best performance in years. In August, it gained about 25% – the strongest month of 2026 and the first positive August since 2021; the month closed around $78,000.

The rise followed Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's move to expand the buyback of long-term bonds, which lowered yields and triggered billions in short position liquidations. Following this news, the so-called devaluation trade returned to the headlines: traders buy gold or Bitcoin to hedge against currency devaluation. The dollar weakened amid news of the bond buyback and the announcement earlier that week that U.S. national debt had reached $40 trillion. Speaking about the state of the American economy, Mallers added: "Such a level of debt is unsustainable, so when people argue – what if they raise rates? What if they lower them? – it doesn't matter: all of this is inflationary and all of this is unsustainable."
