Meta's COO Sold Shares Worth $1.04 Million

Javier Olivan, Chief Operating Officer of Meta Platforms, Inc. (NASDAQ: META), sold Class A shares totaling $1,035,924 on September 14, 2026. The transactions were made at a price of $657.73 per share, with a total of 1,575 shares sold. The sales were conducted under a trading plan according to Rule 10b5-1, adopted by Olivan on November 17, 2025. At the time of publication, the stock is trading at $673.32, with a market capitalization of $1.71 trillion. According to InvestingPro, Meta appears overvalued relative to its fair value, although its gross margin exceeds 81%.

The sales included a direct sale of 946 shares – after which Olivan directly owns 10,716 shares. An additional 82 shares were sold through Olivan D LLC, which is managed by Olivan: this entity indirectly owns 6,080 shares. 57 shares were sold through Olivan Reinhold D LLC, managed by Olivan and his spouse – leaving 1,232 shares remaining. 82 shares were sold through Reinhold D LLC, managed by Olivan's spouse – leaving 6,080 shares remaining. Finally, 408 shares were sold through the Olivan Reinhold Family Revocable Trust, co-chaired by Olivan and his spouse – the trust indirectly owns 77,845 shares.

Among other recent events: Meta launched the Meta One subscription service, which has already attracted 15 million trial and paid subscribers. The service expands AI capabilities and offers over 50 features across Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Meta AI platforms. Despite the introduction of paid features, the company assured that the basic functionality of the apps will remain free. Rosenblatt reaffirmed a 'Buy' rating with a target price of $886, noting the expansion of Meta One as a positive factor. BMO Capital Markets identified Meta as a company with significant regulatory risks due to global initiatives for user age verification.
