Number of Job Openings in the Crypto Industry Rises to 1,241 in September 2026

The job market in the crypto industry showed a strong recovery in hiring in September 2026: the number of crypto job openings reached 1,241, more than tripling the July figure of 382 openings. According to the CryptoJobsList platform, which specializes in Web3 and blockchain hiring, this is the highest monthly volume of crypto job openings in 2026. Meanwhile, the number of applications from job seekers decreased from 25,700 in July to less than 20,000 in September – despite the increase in open positions, competition for specialists in the crypto industry is intensifying.

The demand structure for blockchain specialists highlights which areas have become the drivers of hiring in the crypto industry. The highest demand was recorded in finance, engineering, and trading – these three categories topped the ranking of crypto job openings for the quarter. Among blockchain skills, employers most frequently requested experience with Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana – the three largest networks in the crypto market. The top 10 also included areas such as stablecoins, artificial intelligence, security, and compliance.

The number of companies opening crypto job positions increased to 125 in September – compared to 107 in July and 77 in August, when the crypto job market experienced temporary stagnation. Data from CryptoJobsList confirms that hiring in the crypto industry is recovering after a lull in the first half of 2026. Crypto job openings in September nearly doubled the January figure of 573 positions, which had remained the most active month of the year until August.

The decrease in the number of applications amid the rise in crypto job openings indicates intensified competition for specialists in blockchain development, compliance, and quantitative trading. September's crypto job market figures reached levels not seen since the beginning of 2026, suggesting potential changes in hiring within the crypto industry and the Web3 specialist market in the fourth quarter.
