Samsung Electronics announced plans to introduce USDC transfers through Samsung Wallet at the end of October for Galaxy users in the US. The service will cover 82 million Galaxy devices. According to a statement on October 7, users will be able to send USDC without a Samsung fee to compatible crypto wallets and bank accounts in more than 60 countries. USDC will become the first coin and default stablecoin when selecting Buy Stablecoin. The service will also include fiat on-ramps and off-ramps. The company did not disclose the full list of countries and detailed fees.
USDC will be stored through Coinbase Prime and Bastion, a licensed provider under the supervision of US regulators. In September 2025, Coinbase Ventures led a $14.6 million round with participation from Samsung Next, Sony Innovation Fund, a16z crypto, and Hashed, bringing Bastion's total funding to $40+ million. Solana and Sui are listed as partners for blockchain infrastructure. "Sending money abroad should be as convenient as using a wallet on your phone," noted Woncheol Chai, Executive Vice President of Samsung. Transactions will require biometric authentication.
Lily Liu, President of the Solana Foundation, called the integration a step towards everyday transfers: "This is the level of adoption we built Solana for." Alec Lovett from Coinbase noted Samsung's global reach as a significant milestone for USDC.
Earlier in October 2025, Samsung Wallet integrated Coinbase services for 75 million users, including trading and staking. In July 2026, at Galaxy Unpacked, plans for stablecoins were announced without details. On October 6, information emerged about Samsung's patent application for a wallet with smart contracts. The company is considering stablecoin payments in stores but has not named a date. There are no plans to issue its own stablecoin.
