Startup Quartz Launches Its Project with £2.7 Million Support

London-based fintech startup Quartz, developing a personal banker for asset management, has begun operations after raising £2.7 million in seed funding.

The round was led by Daphni in conjunction with Outward VC and K Fund, as well as private investors including Kantox founder Philippe Gelis and former product director at N26 and Kraken, Gilles Bianro. The Quartz app, registered with the FCA as an account information service provider, consolidates all user assets – pensions, ISAs, savings, investments – in one place using proprietary connectors. The collected data is linked to Charlie, an AI-based intelligent agent that continuously monitors the markets and provides real-time updates on portfolios.

The company is led by co-founder and CEO Andre Silva, who previously held the position of global expansion lead at Revolut, and co-founder and product director Mateus Mesquita Alves, who formerly headed the investment products division at N26. "Small differences in how your money works can lead to huge changes in your life, and this should not be the prerogative of a select few," says Silva. "Compound interest is the most powerful force in finance, and we have assembled a team of 10 people in London, Barcelona, and Porto to help millions of people master this process."
