Strive Strengthened Bitcoin Position as SATA Approaches $1 Billion

Strive acquired 1,375 BTC for approximately $109 million between August 31 and September 4, 2026, bringing its corporate Bitcoin reserve to 24,531 BTC. The average purchase price of all Bitcoin, including fees, came to $79,281 per coin. The information was disclosed in a Form 8-K filed with the SEC on September 8. At the time of publication, Bitcoin was trading near $79,300, putting the market value of the reserve at approximately $1.95 billion.

A significant portion of the capital for the purchase came from sales of SATA preferred shares. Over the week, the number of these securities grew by 921,511, reaching 9,995,425. At a par value of $100 per share, the aggregate nominal volume totaled approximately $999.5 million. CEO Matt Cole stated that roughly 70% of the capital raised during the week came specifically from SATA sales. These securities have no maturity date, carry variable dividends calculated on par value, and the company uses an at-the-market program, selling no new preferred shares below $100.

Despite Bitcoin expenditures, Strive's cash and cash equivalents increased by $19.1 million to $202.6 million. The STRC preferred share position remained unchanged at 505,000 shares. Class A common shares increased by 2,226,612 to 85,696,647, while Class B shares declined by 554,624. This indicates that the company financed its Bitcoin accumulation not only through preferred shares but also through common equity.

Strive continues to build its position. The previous week it purchased 1,800 BTC for $143 million, and over two reporting periods combined it has acquired 3,175 BTC for approximately $252 million. The company ranks among the largest public holders of Bitcoin, trailing Strategy with its 845,050 BTC. Strive's goal is to claim second place, though maintaining the current pace of purchases will be required to do so. Estimates suggest the company needs to acquire approximately 1,200 BTC per week through year-end. The company also holds warrants valued at over $700 million that could potentially raise up to $1.4 billion for further purchases, provided the common share price remains above the strike levels.
