TechPowerUp has announced the release of a new version of its utility GPU-Z, designated as 2.71.0. This version includes monitoring features for hotspot temperatures on the new RTX 50-series graphics processors (GPUs). The utility now allows reading the memory chip temperatures for RTX 50-series models, with the hottest chip temperature displayed by default. Additionally, users can hover over the temperature to see values for all memory chips present on the graphics card.
Furthermore, GPU-Z version 2.71.0 introduces an overclocking indicator in the advanced tab for NVIDIA GPUs, allowing users to view overclocking frequencies, including internal clock domain frequencies such as crossbar (XBAR), SYS, and video frequency. There is also the ability to read L2 and SYS cache clock frequencies. These parameters will need to be enabled for display in the sensors tab, as they are disabled by default. A new feature has also been added that reports the PCI-Express bandwidth in GB/s for NVIDIA graphics processors. All these innovations make the new version more informative for users.
The new version also includes support for several new GPUs, such as the NVIDIA RTX 5060 (GB205), RTX 4070 10 GB, as well as the server chip RTX PRO 4500 Blackwell, Tesla V100-SXM2-16 GB, and other upcoming releases from AMD and Intel, including Intel Panther Lake graphics processors and Qualcomm Snapdragon X2. These updates ensure support for the latest technologies and models on the market, which is an important aspect for gamers and technology professionals. A number of minor fixes are also addressed in the change log, making the program more reliable for users.
