Tokenized stocks grew to nearly $3.3 billion in a month

Trading of tokenized stocks on Solana and BNB Chain blockchains is actively increasing due to the ability to trade around the clock outside of regular U.S. stock market hours. According to Blockworks, more than 70% of tokenized stock trading volumes on BNB Chain occur outside the traditional trading window from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time. On Solana, this figure is 63%, and on Base,– nearly 60%.

The Jupiter platform, based on Solana, reported a 50% increase in tokenized asset trading volume compared to the previous month. This data shows that investors prefer to use tokenized stocks for trading during hours when traditional U.S. exchanges are closed, rather than simply duplicating their activity during regular market hours. Over the past 30 days, the value of tokenized stocks has increased by 15%, reaching nearly $3.3 billion, according to RWA xyz. A significant portion of this value is concentrated among issuers such as Ondo Global Markets, xStocks, and bStocks, whose tokens are issued and traded on various blockchains.

The growth of round-the-clock trading comes amid the opening of the door for tokenized stocks on traditional markets by U.S. regulators. Last month, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) introduced an “innovation exemption” allowing qualified platforms to trade tokenized stocks registered in the U.S. on public blockchains. SEC Commissioner Mark Uyeda noted that participating platforms are required to publish trade data in U.S. dollars, including transaction prices, sizes, timestamps, and daily trading volumes. They must also disclose the addresses and balances of liquidity pools. Unlike existing tokenized stocks, such as xStocks and Ondo Global Markets, which are mostly unavailable to U.S. investors, the SEC exemption allows qualified platforms to offer U.S. tokenized stocks in the domestic market, provided shareholder rights and trading and disclosure requirements are met.
