American spot ETFs on XRP recorded a weekly outflow for the first time in three months: the previous series of inflows lasted 13 weeks. According to SoSoValue, the reversal occurred from October 12 to 16.
The net outflow for the week amounted to about $1.84 million – a modest sum for products of this scale, but the reversal attracted attention against the backdrop of 13 weeks of continuous inflow. The cumulative net inflow by mid-October remained around $1.8 billion. At the beginning of the week, the dynamics were almost zero, on Wednesday the funds received another $740,000, but by the end of the week, outflows began. The largest was on Friday – about $2.47 million, and most of it was associated with the Canary Capital (XRPC) product. Without this withdrawal, the week would have closed with a net inflow of about $630,000.
The period is critical for the market: XRP is trading around $1.28, down 1.60% for the day and 6.3% for the month. The price is testing support at $1.30 after an unsuccessful attempt to hold above key moving averages.
At the same time, the volume of payments in the XRP Ledger network on October 17, according to XRPSCAN, fell to 119.5 million XRP – down 72.3% for the day and significantly below the 30-day average of 629.3 million XRP. The decline occurred in one session and showed how quickly network activity can change. The historical maximum of payment volumes approached 7 billion XRP, and the metric has always been highly volatile: sharp jumps were often followed by equally rapid pullbacks.
Analysts note: one weak session does not always indicate a structural decline in network usage. But if payments remain low and ETF inflows are negative or zero, the short-term outlook may worsen. It is more important to monitor the recovery of activity in the coming sessions than to focus on one separate metric.
