Interactive Brokers offers two main account structures. IBKR Pro is the professional tier with commissions from $0.005 per share (US) with a $1 minimum, Smart Order Routing, direct market access (DMA), and access to numerous exchanges. IBKR Lite is a simplified option with $0 commissions on US stocks/ETFs through a limited routing set. For forex, competitive spreads from 0.1 pips are available with a $2–2.50 round-turn commission per lot. There is no minimum deposit ($0). Leverage is restricted: 1:2 for stocks (Reg-T margin), up to 1:50 for forex. Additional accounts include IBKR GlobalTrader (simplified investing), IBKR Campus (student), and Paper Trading (demo with live data). Inactivity fee: $20/month if commissions fall below $2,000, waived when volume criteria are met.
