Autonomous AI agents have begun to prefer the stablecoin Ripple USD over native crypto assets like XRP for transactions, according to XRPL AI Hub. Analysis of transaction activities shows that the Ripple stablecoin maintains a dominant position, while transaction volumes in XRP have stagnated over the past week. BlackRock notes in a new forecast that AI agents will shape the economy of the future. The financial giant highlights a significant shift: the traditional banking system, reliant on human schedules, cannot process millisecond microtransactions conducted by autonomous programs. According to their data, the global stablecoin market has already surpassed $300 billion, and the annual transaction volume has reached $11.6 trillion, turning this asset class into a fundamental unit of account for AI.

This liquidity allows robotic networks to reliably conduct high-frequency microtransactions without delays and systemic blockages. Additionally, autonomous systems require the ability to purchase computing power around the clock and pay for access to APIs, making tokenized graphics processors a key commodity in the new technological economy.

According to Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, the number of AI agents conducting transactions will grow exponentially, but they critically need predictable costs. Strict budgeting algorithms of the programs exclude the use of volatile assets: even a change in the price of XRP by a few percent within an hour can undermine the financial model of an autonomous task. In contrast, Ripple USD, whose value is pegged to the US dollar, allows algorithms to accurately forecast costs. While XRP continues to play a role in interbank settlements, the digital dollar Ripple is beginning to dominate the internal economy of robots on the XRP Ledger across all time horizons.
