BlackRock sold $104.97 million in bitcoins for the fifth consecutive day

BlackRock, the world's largest asset management company, sold $104.97 million worth of Bitcoin on November 5, 2026. This marks the fifth consecutive day of sales, according to data from SosoValue, a platform tracking fund flows into exchange-traded funds. In November, the company has not recorded any new Bitcoin purchases, although the sell-off began at the end of October.
Outflows from the IBIT Fund
Its exchange-traded fund (ETF) IBIT – a fund whose shares are traded on the exchange and follow the price of Bitcoin – recorded a net outflow for the fourth time this week. A net outflow means that investors withdrew more funds from the fund than they contributed. Daily trading sessions this week remained negative, and the outflow on November 5 was another significant withdrawal: it was after this that BlackRock sold $104.97 million worth of Bitcoin.
Sharp Price Reversal
The sales coincided with a sharp reversal in Bitcoin's price. Within 24 hours, the asset fell from a high above $80,000 to a low of $75,114. According to CoinMarketCap, a cryptocurrency price tracking service, this is the sharpest price reversal in a month. At the time of publication, Bitcoin was trading at $75,979, having lost 5.22% over the day.
At the beginning of the week, Bitcoin showed signs of recovery, but the market turned. Institutional investors are withdrawing funds and exercising caution, hedging against further losses. Volatility has persisted for several weeks; expectations of a November price recovery are fading.
There is no data on new BlackRock purchases at the time of publication. The source does not specify how long the series of sales will last or the total volume of Bitcoin the company has sold over all five days. It also does not provide estimates on when fund flows in the IBIT fund might reverse.
