DOGE Enters Payments: Dogecoin Labs Unites Key Projects

Dogecoin Labs, backed by the Dogecoin Foundation, launched on October 21, 2026. The organization is led by Jordan Jefferson, co-founder of MyDoge and DogeOS; under one structure, it combines the MyDoge wallet, the DogeOS platform, and the Such App payment product. The goal is to bring DOGE into payments, decentralized finance, gaming, and consumer applications, while the Foundation continues to oversee ecosystem development and open-source code.

“No other digital asset combines the liquidity, community, and cultural reach of Dogecoin, and its potential is barely tapped,” Jefferson stated. “We created Dogecoin Labs to change that.”

MyDoge is the consumer entry point: according to the press release, it has over 500,000 users, and the V3 update integrates applications on DogeOS. DogeOS itself is a zero-knowledge proof rollup supporting Ethereum-compatible smart contracts and fee payments in DOGE; the public testnet Chikyū was launched on September 30, 2026. It features credit protocols, liquidity management tools, perpetual trading, and stablecoins. There is no timeline for the mainnet launch. In May 2025, DogeOS raised $6.9 million in a seed round led by Polychain Capital.

Such App, developed by House of Doge and Brag House, addresses the real world: self-custody of funds and QR code payments in DOGE, with some features already operational in beta.

The launch comes amid Dogecoin's entry into traditional finance not yet attracting sustainable demand: in September, Bitwise announced the closure of its Dogecoin exchange-traded fund, and its CEO Hunter Horsley linked the failure to a disconnect between cryptocurrency ETF investors and brokerage app users.

For holders and developers, key signals for the future include the mainnet announcement of DogeOS, the number of testnet projects that reach operational launch, the growth of the MyDoge user base after V3 integration, and the exit of Such App from beta. While activity is ongoing in the testnet, the utility of DOGE as a payment token remains stated rather than confirmed by numbers.
