KZTg has been introduced in Kazakhstan – the first stablecoin in the national currency of tenge, operating in Telegram. The debut of the token took place at the Central Asia Fintech Summit 2026 in Almaty.
The launch of the TG Coin project was announced by independent financial analyst Andrey Chebotarev. According to him, KZTg has become the first stablecoin in the national currency available in Telegram in Central Asia, and the first such stablecoin on the TON network. This makes the project a significant event for both the region and the TON ecosystem, where there has not yet been a stablecoin denominated in the national currency of one of the Central Asian countries.
The token is backed by tenge at a one-to-one ratio. To use the service, it is necessary to register with the national bank, and all transactions with the service are conducted on a centralized currency platform. This approach implies that operations with KZTg are carried out within a regulated infrastructure, rather than in a completely decentralized environment, which distinguishes it from many other stablecoins operating in messengers.
The debut of KZTg is part of a broader roadmap for Kazakhstan's digital economy, which envisions the development of digital assets and the formation of a new financial infrastructure. The presentation at the specialized summit emphasizes that the project is viewed as part of a larger strategy, rather than as a standalone initiative. The Central Asia Fintech Summit itself took place on September 11 in Almaty and gathered over 500 participants, including representatives from the financial and technology sectors. The event served as a platform for discussing digital assets, payment solutions, and the integration of new technologies into the region's financial system.
