Nvidia, Nike, Costco and Reddit Oppose Tokenization of Stocks on OKXICE

The number of companies opposing the trading of tokenized versions of their shares on OKXICE has reached 50, according to an updated notice dated October 30, 2026. OKXICE is a joint project of the cryptocurrency exchange OKX and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

Who joined

In two days, the list of objectors grew by 12 participants. Among the new ones are Nvidia, Nike, Costco, Reddit, Micron, CrowdStrike, Palo Alto Networks, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Corning, IREN, USA Rare Earth, and Bloom Energy. Previously, Microsoft, Alphabet, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Intel, Oracle, AMD, Coca-Cola, Walmart, and other major corporations opposed the inclusion of their shares in trading on OKXICE.

Initially, the platform planned to offer tokenized versions of the securities of 62 companies, represented by 63 tickers. However, not all 50 objectors were part of the initial list: according to calculations based on the platform's notifications, 43 companies from the original list opposed.

Objections are filed under the temporary Innovation Exemption regime introduced by the SEC in September 2026, which allows trading of tokenized securities under certain conditions. Specifically, issuers have 30 days to submit an official objection against the trading of tokenized versions of their shares issued by third parties. Such a refusal restricts the placement of instruments on a specific platform but does not prohibit the tokenization of the company's securities in general.

Context

The protest occurred against the backdrop of rapid growth in the capitalization of the real-world asset tokenization sector (RWA): as of November 1, 2026, it exceeded $39 billion. The updated OKXICE notice does not specify the reasons for the issuers' decisions, and the trading launch date is also unknown.
