Sony announced a new accessory set for PS5

Sony announced a new line of accessories for the PS5 called the Prism Collection. It includes glossy transparent DualSense controllers and interchangeable console panels available in three colors: orange, green, and gray. The design of the new items harkens back to the fashion of the late '90s and early 2000s, when transparent cases were popular in various devices, including gaming consoles and personal computers.
Each DualSense controller in the new collection features a transparent coating that reveals the internal components, including elements for haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. A Sony representative explained that the designers were inspired by the iconic transparent design trend to create a modern accessory that complements the industrial style of the PS5. According to the company representative: “We wanted to bring back the iconic transparent design trend of the late '90s in a fresh, modern way that complements the industrial design of the PS5.”
The interchangeable panels will fit over the console, allowing the original case to be preserved while changing its appearance. To create a unified style, the panels match the color of the controllers. Pre-orders for the new accessories will start on November 10, 2026, with shipping beginning in February 2027. Prices for the new items will be $85 for the DualSense controller and $75 for the PS5 console panels. Transparent gamepads have been a tradition for PlayStation since the release of semi-transparent controllers back in the PS1 days, and now the Prism Collection continues this line, offering new options for PS5 owners.
