Strategy Acquires 250 BTC for $21.5 Million

Strategy purchased 250 bitcoins for $21.5 million, averaging $86,194 per unit. As a result of the latest purchase, the company's total holdings have increased to a record 848,250 BTC. Additionally, Strategy also repurchased 1.93 million shares of its preferred stock STRC for $192.4 million. Following the completion of the latest transaction, the company's cash reserves decreased to $5.5 billion from the previous over $6 billion. This information was announced by the company's co-founder Michael Saylor in his Twitter post on October 12, 2026.

The amount for the BTC purchase was primarily raised through the sale of approximately 125,000 shares of common stock MSTR via an at-the-market sale program, which brought the company $21 million, with an additional $500,000 in cash to complete the purchase. Currently, Strategy holds $4.88 billion in dollar reserve funds, part of which is intended for dividend payments and interest on debts. Recently, support for STRC prices has been observed amid growth, closing at $99.66 last Friday, a pleasant reminder of the stock's turnover under $75 earlier, highlighting the restoration of investor confidence.

The company resumed increasing its BTC holdings in mid-September, after a pause during which it even conducted sales. The current series of stock replenishments has been ongoing for four consecutive weeks. Michael Saylor noted that despite the relatively modest size of the latest purchase, the total BTC holdings have still reached a record level. It is worth recalling that STRC stock prices have recently begun to recover after falling significantly below $100, settling at the $75 level. A potentially profitable strategy of buying BTC, while maintaining confidence in STRC and U.S. dollar reserves, could prove beneficial for the company. Ultimately, this could positively impact its future financial results.
