The Telegram Wallet has been renamed to Walt and now offers a platform for trading and storing a multitude of crypto assets. In an announcement made on September 28, it was reported that Walt supports over 300 assets, with its trading service covering more than 200 cryptocurrencies. Additionally, the offering of tokenized assets includes over 100 stocks, ETFs, and metals. The perpetual futures service covers more than 70 assets. Andrey Rogozov, founder and CEO of The Open Platform and Walt, noted: "We started as a simple wallet for purchasing Toncoin and Bitcoin, but over the past four years, we have transformed into a full-fledged crypto platform within Telegram." Walt provides users with the ability to deposit, store, and withdraw over 300 assets, as well as access products related to stocks and metals.
The Gram Wallet, which is a product of Telegram, will serve functions distinct from those presented in Walt. Gram will allow users to send Telegram gifts, transfer funds, pay for services, and conduct transactions within the app. Walt, on the other hand, implies a broader option for trading and storing assets, including the ability to top up the wallet in Gram directly through Walt.
Walt also plans to introduce crypto cards for spending operations and AI-based trading tools. Rogozov emphasized that "cards and AI integration will receive separate launches as they become available, and the issuance of cards will be phased." It is important to note that an announcement regarding upcoming products with cards and AI will be published in the coming weeks. However, it was not specified when the full deployment of the Gram wallet or the launch of card and AI-related features is planned.
