Travala Creates Permanent AVA Reserve and Increases Token Buyback Volume

The travel platform Travala has announced the launch of a permanent strategic reserve for its AVA token and will align with the existing monthly token buyback program of the AVA fund. This means that every purchase by the fund will now be supplemented by a corresponding purchase funded by Travala. In the first round, the fund acquired 369,881.04 AVA tokens. Travala added another 369,881.04 AVA, bringing the total to 739,762.08 tokens. The fund has already previously bought back over 4.8 million AVA tokens through its existing program, and the new structure effectively doubles the amount of purchases in the open market in the future if Travala continues to match each announced buyback from the fund.

The tokens purchased for Travala's corporate reserve will not be sold or transferred, meaning they will be permanently held in reserve and excluded from the company's active operations. It is clarified that this commitment is a corporate policy, and the tokens in the strategic reserve continue to exist within the blockchain network. This differs from the token burning mechanism, which permanently reduces the supply at the protocol level.

While the program enhances the economics around AVA, the permanent open market creates recurring demand, and holding a corresponding share of the company off circulation reduces the number of tokens Travala could return to the market later. The company has long integrated AVA tokens into its discount system, rewards, and its Smart loyalty program. The current aspect of the reserve underscores the seriousness of the company's intentions toward the AVA token as a long-term asset. Observers will look for consistency: a single large purchase may attract attention, but a continuous program under varying market conditions will speak more to how seriously Travala regards AVA as treasury assets.
