Trust Wallet User Reports Missing 3,830 USDT

On November 3, 2026, Trust Wallet user Yaroslav Dubovoy reported the disappearance of 3,830 USDT without his consent. According to the owner, he discovered the absence of funds after opening the app, even though he did not confirm the transfer and did not receive any transaction warnings.
Dubovoy claims he had been using the same wallet for about 5 years and adhered to security measures to protect his assets. After discovering the loss, he reviewed the transaction history and reported that the blockchain recorded the transfer of funds. Later, the user published the transaction ID but could not explain how it was conducted.
The message caught the attention of the cryptocurrency community. At the time of the screenshot publication, provided by the source, the post had garnered over 166,000 views. Dubovoy demanded explanations from Trust Wallet regarding the circumstances of the transfer.
There is no independent confirmation of the reason for the loss of funds. Trust Wallet is a self-custody wallet where the user controls the private keys. Unauthorized transfers can occur due to key compromise, malicious smart contract permissions, or fraudulent signatures. Which of these mechanisms might have been used in this case is unknown.
Other issues with Trust Wallet have been reported by individual users. One user complained that after exchanging cryptocurrency, they did not receive the expected USDC. Support representatives suggested checking the transaction status and seeking additional assistance.
Another user reported losing funds after interacting with someone posing as a support staff member in the NEAR Protocol blockchain's Discord community. He published screenshots of his wallet history with outgoing transfers of ETH, BTC, BNB, and NEAR. Among the transactions was a transfer of 3 NEAR worth about $11.49. These cases have different circumstances, and their connection to Dubovoy's complaint has not been established.
In December 2025, Trust Wallet had already confirmed a security incident affecting version 2.68 of the wallet extension for the Chrome browser. At that time, attackers distributed an update with malicious code, resulting in users losing crypto assets worth approximately $7 million. The company acknowledged the issue and announced compensation for the affected users. The incident did not impact users who worked exclusively with the mobile app.
Unlike the confirmed extension hack in 2025, the current complaint is not yet accompanied by evidence of a new Trust Wallet vulnerability. The reason for the transfer of 3,830 USDT and the possible involvement of third parties remain undetermined.
