Uniswap Reports $20 Billion in Tokenized Stock Trading

The decentralized exchange Uniswap reported that the cumulative trading volume of tokenized stocks on its platform exceeded $20 billion. According to the company, this figure placed the protocol at the top among decentralized exchanges (DEX) in this segment. However, the detailed calculation method and the list of considered assets have not been disclosed.

Tokenized stocks are digital assets whose value is linked to the prices of securities. Their circulation through blockchain allows transactions without traditional exchange infrastructure, but ownership conditions depend on the issuer. Such tokens do not always provide shareholder rights, including voting or receiving dividends.

Uniswap also increased activity in the tokenized commodity assets segment. According to the published estimate, the daily trading volume in this category amounted to about $19.4 million, approximately 35 times higher than the comparable figure for Aerodrome. Independent details of this comparison are not yet available.

UNI rose amid increased trading activity

On November 4, the UNI token rose from $7.28 to $7.70 on Binance, gaining 5.7% in four hours. Later, the price corrected. As of the publication on November 5, UNI was trading around $7.58, showing a daily increase of 5.2%. The market capitalization of the asset was estimated at $4.68 billion.

Despite the recovery, the value of UNI remained about 24% below the September level of around $10. Thus, the short-term growth has not yet compensated for the previous decline in prices.

The daily spot trading volume of UNI was estimated at $154.11 million, while futures turnover reached $1.04 billion. Binance accounted for about $67.96 million of spot trading. Meanwhile, the net inflow of tokens to the exchange addresses amounted to approximately $6.85 million, meaning the value of inflows exceeded the value of outflows.

A positive transfer balance indicates asset movement to the exchange but does not determine whether they will be sold. High futures turnover also does not itself indicate a predominance of buyers or sellers.

The number of active addresses in the tracked UNI network statistics fluctuated between approximately 1,800 and 2,200. This indicates no noticeable change in the indicator for the period under consideration.

The growth in trading of tokenized assets expands the use of Uniswap, but its direct impact on the demand and price of UNI has not been established.
