The game World War Z has announced the "Viral State" update, which will be released on November 12, 2026, for PC, PS5, Xbox, and PS4. The trailer showcases the sunny streets of Miami with neon signs, palm trees, and beaches. However, the idyllic scene is disrupted by hordes of zombies filling the streets and coastline. The update's action will unfold in Miami, Florida, where players can battle the undead in new settings.
Sunny Miami with neon lighting involuntarily evokes associations with Vice City and the anticipated GTA 6. The trailer's stylistic design suggests that Saber Interactive wants to capitalize on the anticipation of this major game. World War Z remains a third-person shooter about a zombie apocalypse, based on the film and book of the same name. Details about the Viral State content, including new maps, weapons, and modes, have not yet been disclosed. The update will include various missions that will allow players to experience new combat mechanics with zombies and interaction with the environment.
With the release of the update, Saber Interactive hopes to attract the attention of both long-time fans of the game and new players ready to enjoy the atmosphere of a zombie apocalypse in the colorful setting of Miami. In this part, developers are expected to provide players with the opportunity to explore open spaces, allowing for a more flexible approach to completing tasks. As in previous updates, users can expect large-scale battles against numerous enemies, which is one of the main features of World War Z's gameplay.
