The price of XRP increased to $1.48 after significant institutional purchases totaling $2.2 billion. The asset showed a growth of about 7% in a day, stabilizing amid rising interest from investors and a general strengthening of the altcoin market. After dropping to a local minimum of $1.29 last week, driven by technical and emotional factors, the price of XRP has recovered. The retail sector's reaction to local regulatory discussions in the U.S. proved to be short-lived, as the legal status of XRP as a digital commodity remains unchanged, confirmed by the court precedent of 2023 and official guidelines published in March 2026.
The decline in price to psychological support levels triggered activity among major holders. According to blockchain data, within 96 hours after the drop, 1.54 billion XRP were transferred to institutional addresses. Thus, the total capital directed towards purchasing the asset is estimated at $2.2 billion, fully offsetting selling pressure and stabilizing the daily trading volume at around $92.6 million.
Technical analysis on the weekly chart of Bitstamp confirms a shift in market balance in favor of buyers. The current weekly candle closes with a gain of 5.45% at around $1.48716, signaling an exit from a long-term downtrend channel. Accumulation volumes in the range of $1.25–$1.38 indicate the formation of a strong price foundation. XRP is approaching a key resistance level and moving average at $1.50. A sustained breakout above this level could lead to a classic rotation of capital from Bitcoin, which is trading above $76,000, into liquid altcoins, paving the way for mid-term XRP targets around $1.80.
