Cardano Launches Native Library for Popular Programming Languages

Cardano has introduced a new native library called Mesmo, which implements the core functions of Cardano for the programming languages Python, Go, Rust, and JavaScript without the need for Java Virtual Machine. The official blog of the Cardano Foundation explains that Cardano SDKs cover 95% of developers' needs, and Mesmo now addresses the remaining 5%, allowing work without the need to change libraries. However, developers often require access to additional features not present in a specific library, and Mesmo provides this opportunity. The library works by compiling the Cardano Client Lib (CCL) – a mature Java SDK – using GraalVM Native Image into a regular compatible C library. While Cardano continues to develop its native library, alternative node development is also gaining popularity. Dingo, developed by Blink Labs, recently reached an important milestone – validating blocks accepted by the Mainnet, expanding its achievements on Preview, PreProd, Musashi, Prime Testnet, and now Mainnet Cardano.

Meanwhile, the latest version of Amaru offers improvements for duplex connections, peer management, block fetching, and management-related functionality. The Amaru team achieved its third-quarter goal by releasing a reliable relay node binary and is now focused on a pre-release with block production scheduled for September 29, 2026, followed by a beta version approximately four weeks later, as well as the first Mainnet block production in the fourth quarter.

In another example of implementation diversity, a full-featured Cardano node on Haskell was demonstrated running directly in a web browser, tracking the chain and supporting transaction functionality. Cardano recently celebrated the ninth anniversary since the creation of the first genesis block on September 23, 2017, with the mainnet launched just six days later on September 29, 2017, marking the beginning of Cardano's journey as a public blockchain. At the time of writing, Cardano (ADA) was trading at $0.25, up 4.80% over the past 24 hours and 23% over the week.
