Thus, the owner realized a profit of about $99.64 million.
On September 4, another address that had not been used for more than 15 years moved 6.78 BTC, valued at $551,000. The bitcoins were originally received in February 2011, and their initial average cost was about $4. Galaxy Research estimated the profit from this operation at $523,000. On the same day, another address, inactive for almost 15 years, moved 40 BTC, valued at about $3.09 million at the time of the transaction, with a realized profit of $3.1 million. On September 2, an address with 146.06 BTC, stored for about 12.8 years, resumed activity. The market value at the time of transfer was approximately $11.31 million, and the realized profit was – $11.22 million.
On September 19, the owner of an address that had been inactive for nearly 15 years moved 100 BTC worth about $8.09 million. The average cost of these coins is estimated at about $3 per BTC, corresponding to a profit of $8.09 million. On September 22, another significant movement occurred: an address that had stored coins for over 14 years moved 600 BTC, valued at approximately $51.9 million. The initial cost was about $8 per bitcoin, and the realized profit reached $48.71 million. The most recent case was recorded on September 29: two transactions moved a total of 20.43 BTC, which had not been used for over 15 years. At the time of the operations, their value was about $1.71 million, and the total realized profit was estimated at $1.724 million. It is noteworthy that in August, the total amount of bitcoins moved by 'dormant' wallets exceeded 800 BTC.
