Mastercard has introduced a card acceptance analytics platform called Advanced B2B Analytics, designed to provide clients with supplier payment analytics. The platform is developed to enable issuers to 'manage commercial card spending on a large scale,' increase revenue, and help corporate clients find ways to optimize working capital, as stated in the Mastercard press release on September 28.
"Today, companies have vast amounts of payment data, but too often it remains fragmented and underutilized," said Mark Pettycan, Global Head of Corporate Solutions at Mastercard. "With Advanced B2B Analytics, we combine powerful analytics with our deep expertise in commercial payments to help issuers identify where card acceptance can bring the most value, engage more effectively with suppliers, and deliver measurable growth."
According to Mastercard, modern issuers and corporate buyers often lack analytics-based methods to identify and prioritize supplier card acceptance opportunities. "Fragmented data and manual processes can slow conversion and prolong reliance on less efficient payment methods, despite growing demand for smarter payment solutions, with nearly half of suppliers expecting buyers to increasingly request card payments in the coming years," the company added.
Mastercard claims that Advanced B2B Analytics helps financial institutions and their corporate clients more accurately identify supplier payment opportunities, turning accounts payable analytics into productive actions. The platform, combined with the advisory expertise of the Mastercard Advisors & Transformation team, helps optimize procurement processes, reduce costs, and accelerate commercial card acceptance on a large scale.
