Ramp officially launched its financial platform in the UK on September 15. This expansion marks Ramp's first significant step beyond North America after entering the Canadian market in July. According to Yakov Wallenberg, Vice President of International Development at Ramp, “The UK is home to some of the fastest-growing companies in Europe, and we have created our product to meet their needs.” Ramp offers services with a regulated payment license through the acquisition of the Bellhop platform, allowing the company to process payments both in the UK and the European Union.
Ramp's expansion into the UK market comes amid a 21-fold increase in AI spending among the company's clients since June of last year. According to data, the largest AI expenditures are growing by at least 50% each quarter. “The issue is not that companies are spending too much on AI. The important thing is that they are doing it without consideration,” Wallenberg noted. The Ramp platform helps break down expenses by models and teams, separating the cost of goods sold from operating expenses and automatically identifying anomalies and opportunities for savings.
According to a PYMNTS Intelligence report, 58% of companies in the US with annual revenues between $100 million and $1 billion have increased their revenue over the past 24 months. However, 62% of executives reported difficulties in forecasting cash flow, 42% noted reconciliation issues, and 40% pointed to challenges with data integration. Only 12% of respondents acknowledged that their financial systems are fully prepared for the next two years, creating new opportunities for providers across various segments of corporate finance.
