Ripple issued 10 million RLUSD on XRP Ledger

Ripple recently issued 10 million RLUSD on the XRP Ledger blockchain, according to data from the Ripple Stablecoin tracker. This increase in the supply of the RLUSD stablecoin occurred despite a slight decline in activity in September. On September 1, 143.1 million RLUSD were issued, while 7.2 million RLUSD were burned. However, in the following days, activity was significantly lower  for example, on September 10, no coins were issued, and 1.5 million RLUSD were burned. Activity resumed on September 11 with the issuance of 21.9 million RLUSD and the burning of 387 thousand RLUSD. It has been noted that the slowdown in activity affected not only the XRP Ledger but also Ethereum, where no RLUSD were issued on September 10, and 15 million were burned.

Over the past week, a total of 45.6 million RLUSD were issued on the XRP Ledger, of which 22.8 million were burned. The current circulating supply of RLUSD exceeds 1 billion dollars, amounting to 1,053,014,745 dollars on the XRP Ledger. Ripple introduced RLUSD in December 2024, and the coin is issued by Standard Custody & Trust Company, a subsidiary of Ripple, under a limited license granted by the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS).

RLUSD has also joined the Sparks Stablecoin FX Layer platform on Uniswap V4, where the RLUSD/USDS pair processed over 600 million dollars in its first week. Additionally, Clearpool, Ripple's lending partner, is transitioning its infrastructure from Ethereum to the XRP Ledger and, together with Cicada Partners, is launching an institutional credit fund to finance financial and payment companies. All settlements and payments will be conducted exclusively in RLUSD. Ripple indicated that RLUSD is following a stricter regulatory path with a trust charter management model.
