Morgan Stanley Joins DTCC Tokenization, Chainlink Expands Exchange Data

On October 28, 2026, American DTCC launched the DTS securities tokenization service. Morgan Stanley was among the first companies to sign an agreement for access to the new infrastructure. Meanwhile, Chainlink expanded stock price feeds for five Asian markets. Both events demonstrate the development of blockchain services but do not confirm a mass demand for tokenized assets.
How the DTCC Service Works
DTC, the depository division of DTCC, issues digital representations of rights to securities that remain in its custody. The tokens retain economic rights and investor protection as provided. Participants can transfer them between registered wallets and use them for collateral operations.
At launch, DTS covers individual stocks from the Russell 1000 index, exchange-traded funds, and U.S. Treasury securities. The service operates with Canton Network and the private Besu network. Access has been agreed upon by 20 organizations, including Morgan Stanley. The service operates in a three-year mode based on an SEC no-action letter.
Amy Oldenburg, head of digital asset strategy at Morgan Stanley, stated that the experience of integrating tokenized securities with existing market infrastructure will help the bank develop relevant technologies. The volume of the bank's own operations has not yet been disclosed.
What Chainlink Added in Asia
On November 3, Chainlink announced the expansion of APAC Equities Streams. The streams cover the stock markets of China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong with a combined capitalization of over $40 trillion. Among the available quotes are stocks of TSMC, Tencent, Samsung, SK Hynix, and BYD.
The data is used by Lighter, Jupiter Exchange, and Predict.fun for financial products related to stocks. However, $40 trillion is an estimate of the underlying markets' value, not the amount of assets issued on the blockchain. Quotes are provided during the working hours of the respective exchanges, not around the clock.
How to Evaluate the Result
DTCC creates infrastructure for the transfer of rights to securities and collateral, while Chainlink provides the data needed by blockchain applications. Their implementation alone does not guarantee increased liquidity or trading volume.
The practical result will be shown by the number of actual settlements, the volume of collateral transferred, the speed of operations, and sustained demand from market participants.
